The concept embodied by Radiant Mastery is to offer not only favorites but also novelties that are a real treasure trove for music lovers.

This is demonstrated clearly in each of the “De Peyer Delights” and “Concert Delights” with pianist Gwenneth Pryor. A special feature is the quality of artistic collaboration between these two artists developed over thirty years of concert giving.

Other programs include two live performances with great favorites - “Birthday Celebration” and the Milan concert.

A compilation of titles taken from the Delights Collection. This new album offers Gervase's favorites and serves to introduce the listener to a variety of composers rarely heard compositions, each title is an exquisite mini master piece, the program as a whole is a truly unique listening experience.

DE PEYER DELIGHTS - (GDP 1001 and GDP 1002)

Music both magical and famous such as Rachmaninov’s Vocalise, Fauré’s Après un Rêve and Benjamin’s Jamaican Rumba, have as rare neighbours : Germaine Taillefere’s Arabesque, a new version of Warlock’s Pied-en-l’air by Joseph Horovitz and Leo Weiner’s brilliant and brooding Peregi Verbunk-Czardas and many others for your enjoyment.

“On each disc the pieces are grouped in fours, fives or sixes under descriptive titles, and the overall effect is delightful.” Andrew Smith, CASS Magazine (Clarinet & Saxophone Society Magazine)

“The playing has the spontaneity and panache that you would expect of de Peyer, and his sound is especially open and flexible. Gwenneth Pryor is no less characterful and inspiring.” Andrew Smith, CASS Magazine

(de Peyer’s 70th birthday) at the Wigmore Hall, includes both Mozart and Brahms Clarinet Quintets with a star studded cast of performers.

“Gervase de Peyer’s interpretations display deep insight and a wonderful freedom afforded by his many years of performing these masterpieces. Joining him here are two members of the legendary Amadeus Quartet, Norbert Brainin and Martin Lovett. CASS Magazine.

The Anglo Irish program with the pianist Gwenneth Pryor, includes Sonatas by Charles Villiers Stanford and Arnold Bax. Four Characteristic Pieces by William Hurlstone and Arthur Benjamin’s Tombeau de Ravel. In this last work the composer who studied with C.V.Stanford asked Mr. De Peyer to arrange the original viola part for clarinet when it became clear that the intended first performer, William Primrose was becoming too deaf to perform it. Mr. de Peyer made the first recording of this work in the nineteen fifties.

“The rapport between these artists is one of the many features of the disc: Gervase de Peyer’s fluidity and subtlety of phrasing is exactly mirrored by Gwenneth Pryor. CASS Magazine.

“The Bax Sonata comes to seem one of its finest chamber works, especially in such a refined and sympathetic interpretation as this.” Calum MacDonald TEMPO Quaterly Review.

A Performance recorded in Milan includes an unusual program with Mendelssohn; Bernhard Crusell; Carl Bärman; Francis Poulenc; Ponchielli for two clarinets and piano. The performance involves Mr. de Peyer’s most gifted Italian pupil Vincenzo Perrone and the remarkable Italian prodigy pianist Carlo Balzaretti. Mr. Balzaretti was recently invited to join Mr. de Peyer’s Melos Sinfonia at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

This is terrific entertainment music, displaying thrilling coloratura in the top register, and blazing virtuosity all round in the finale.”

CASS Magazine.

MerGer is a blending of Merv and Gervase de Peyer’s talents and skills.

Merv has produced for his father a merging of musical styles ranging from contemporary jazz to classical. Using all the resources of state-of-the-art electronic equipment, Merv keeps the listeners guessing throughout the program whether the music is produced electronically or by live musicians.

“Illuminations” is an extraordinary collaboration between Gervase de Peyer and his son Merv. Like a seasoned Jazz singer, De Peyer can inflect the tone with colour and vibrato, and the rythms and phrasing sound fluid and effortless.

The seven works in this “Delights” program are each substantial enough to be chosen as a significant part of concert programs. Some such as Bartok’s Roumanian Dances and Lutoslawski’s Dance Préludes have movements that are no longer than many pieces on CD’s No. 1001 or 1002 - De Peyer Delights. Others such as Diversions on a Familiar Theme by Joseph Horovitz and Martinu’s Sonatina are continuous works.

“De Peyer is superbly partnered as ever by Gwenneth Pryor...The listener is
